"Shipping Market Restructuring"... Head of Northeast Asia at Global Container Carrier Maersk Visits Busan Port
The Head of Northeast Asia at global shipping and logistics company Maersk has visited Busan Port.
As the shipping market undergoes a major restructuring, including efforts to enhance schedule reliability and advance port operations, attention is focused on whether cooperation between Maersk and Busan Port Authority (BPA) will enter a new phase.
On the 11th, Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) announced that Jens Eskelund, Head of Northeast Asia at Maersk Group, visited Busan Port, received a briefing on current operations and future development plans, and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation.
Maersk is the world’s largest container shipping company and a comprehensive logistics group, with vertically and horizontally integrated affiliates such as terminal operator APM Terminals (APMT) and energy company Maersk Oil.
Starting in February 2025, Maersk will launch a new shipping alliance called 'Gemini Cooperation' with Hapag-Lloyd. This is expected to significantly improve schedule reliability and operational efficiency on shipping routes.
