Gwangju Bukgu to Hold First 'Youth Day' Commemorative Event on June 14
Gwangju Bukgu announced on June 12 that it will hold the '1st Bukgu Youth Day Commemorative Event' on June 14.
The event, themed 'As Youths Should Be! Created by Youths!!', will take place at Ilgok 2nd Neighborhood Park (Hope Street). The commemorative ceremony has been organized to celebrate the establishment of Youth Day, and will be hosted by the Bukgu Youth Center.
On the day of the event, approximately 250 local youths will participate in a variety of programs, including booth operations, pre-ceremony performances, awards for exemplary youths, random play dance, and youth club performances. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the performance hall of the Bukgu Youth Center.
To expand youth participation, Bukgu formed an event planning group consisting of 12 youths selected from four local youth organizations. During the event, youth representatives will also hold a performance to proclaim Bukgu Youth Day, highlighting the voices of youths as members of the local community.
