People Power Party Launches Party Audit Over Attempted Presidential Candidate Replacement

View original imageThe Party Audit Committee held a meeting at the central party headquarters in Yeouido on this day and decided to initiate an audit concerning the leadership under the Kwon Youngse Emergency Response Committee, which attempted to replace candidate Kim Moonsu, who had been elected through the party primary at the time, with independent preliminary candidate Han Ducksoo.
The Audit Committee plans to sequentially interview Emergency Response Committee members involved in the candidate replacement process, starting as early as June 12.
Kim Yongtae, Chairman of the Emergency Response Committee, announced a reform plan on June 8, which included measures such as a party audit regarding the attempted candidate replacement.

At the time, Chairman Kim stated in relation to the candidate replacement controversy, "By exercising the party's audit authority, we will investigate the facts regarding the process of attempting to unjustly replace the candidate and assign appropriate responsibility."
