On May 8, Han suddenly collapsed while talking with friends and was transported to the hospital, but she never regained consciousness and became brain-dead. Through brain-dead organ donation, she donated her liver and both kidneys, saving three precious lives.
Han's family said, "We felt helpless because there was nothing we could do in the face of such a sudden farewell. Since everything except her brain was healthy, we wanted to do something good by saving someone else's life." They added, "We hope that our beloved family member can become a source of hope for those who are desperately wishing for a miracle as their loved ones face life-threatening situations."
Born as the second of seven siblings in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do, Han was known as a warm-hearted person who loved to care for those around her and was always the first to help people in need. Her son, Lee Yong, said, "I only remember my mother working hard and enduring hardships during her life. I hope she can do whatever she wants and be happy in heaven. She was the best mother to us, and we will always remember her that way."
