"We Care for Your Prostate"... Seodaemun-gu Offers Free Screening
Blood Tests, Specialist Lectures, and One-on-One Consultations Provided
Seodaemun-gu in Seoul, in collaboration with the Korean Prostate and Voiding Management Association, will hold a free prostate screening and health lecture for middle-aged and older men to support healthy aging. The event will take place on July 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the main auditorium on the 6th floor of the district office.
This event is open to male residents of the district aged 55 and older. Participants can take part in a variety of programs, including completing a questionnaire on urinary function, undergoing a prostate cancer blood test (PSA test), and having one-on-one consultations with a urology specialist. The results of the blood tests will be sent individually to each participant by mail at a later date.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., Professor Oh Kyungtaek from the Department of Urology at Severance Hospital will give a lecture on the causes, prevention, and treatment of prostate diseases. In addition, the district will operate various health promotion booths to raise residents' awareness about chronic disease prevention and healthy lifestyle practices.
The event is limited to the first 200 applicants. Those interested can apply by calling the Health Promotion Team at Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center (02-330-3806) or by scanning the QR code on the poster posted in the ‘Notices’ section of the Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center website.
