Speaker Woo Requests President Lee to Appoint Special Prosecutors for "National Rebellion, Kim Keonhee, and Chae Sangbyeong" Cases
On June 10, Speaker of the National Assembly Woo Wonsik requested President Lee Jaemyung to appoint special prosecutors for the so-called "three major special prosecutor bills" (the National Rebellion Special Prosecutor Bill, the Kim Keonhee Special Prosecutor Bill, and the Chae Sangbyeong Special Prosecutor Bill).
On this day, Speaker Woo posted on Facebook, stating, "I have approved the documents requesting the appointment of special prosecutors for the three special prosecutor bills," and announced that he had sent the official request to President Lee.

If President Lee, after receiving Speaker Woo's request, formally asks for nominations for special prosecutor candidates, the Democratic Party of Korea and the Cho Kuk Innovation Party will each recommend one candidate. President Lee must appoint one of the two nominees within three days.
