View original imageThe Jeollanamdo Marine Fisheries Science Institute announced that, with the arrival of the summer high-temperature season and the main stocking period for juvenile rockfish and sea bream at the Wando offshore fish cage farms, it will operate a mobile clinic for three days starting from the 11th to prevent diseases and minimize damages.
The mobile clinic will be jointly conducted with the National Institute of Fisheries Science's South Sea Fisheries Research Institute, a national professional research institution, targeting 44 fish farms across 58 hectares in the Sinji-myeon and Gogeum-myeon sea areas of Wando, where cage farms are concentrated.
During this on-site clinic, detailed examinations for bacterial, parasitic, and viral diseases affecting farmed fish will be carried out, and customized diagnoses and prescriptions will be provided upon the request of fish farmers.
Kim Chungnam, Director of the Jeollanamdo Marine Fisheries Science Institute, stated, "This is a proactive measure to provide healthy seafood to the public and a stable farming environment for aquaculture farms," adding, "In addition to the mobile clinic, we will continue to strengthen management through follow-up monitoring and customized return visits."
