Under the slogan "Invitation to the Golden Fields: Let's Play in the Wheat Fields," this year's festival was designed to offer visitors a break from their busy daily lives, allowing them to enjoy a moment of relaxation in the wheat fields and create memorable photos.
The 3rd Yangpyeong Wheat Festival opened with a welcoming speech by Yang Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, and officially began with the cutting of commemorative bread bearing the festival's name.
The festival venue consisted of a sales area promoting and selling wheat-related products, a booth zone with experiential spaces where children could easily participate, and the Yangpyeong Wheat Scenic Complex, which featured wide wheat field walking trails and photo zones for visitors to enjoy.
In addition, a separate Makgeolli Zone was operated, where visitors could taste and purchase various types of Makgeolli, including Makgeolli made from wheat. This helped promote local Makgeolli businesses. There was also a promotional booth for Yangpyeong Wheat Beer, which is soon to be released, and a tasting event was held, receiving an enthusiastic response from attendees.
In particular, during the wheat field treasure hunt event for visitors, souvenirs made from Yangpyeong wheat flour, grown and produced in Yangpyeong, were distributed to participants. This not only effectively promoted Yangpyeong wheat but also added special meaning to this year’s wheat festival.
Yang Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, said, "I sincerely thank all the guests and visitors who attended the 3rd Yangpyeong Wheat Festival despite the hot weather," and added, "Going forward, we will do our utmost to promote the excellence of Yangpyeong wheat by expanding the Yangpyeong wheat industry and preparing support measures to foster wheat-producing farms."
