Yuhan Kimberly Successfully Holds 2025 Newlywed School
Content on Couple Counseling and Exploring Solutions to Low Birthrate Issues
Yuhan Kimberly announced on June 9 that it had successfully held the "2025 Newlywed School" over two sessions.
The Newlywed School is an educational mentoring and experiential event designed to help couples build happy and healthy families. Yuhan Kimberly has been hosting this event in partnership with Seoul YWCA since 2009. This year, it was held twice, on May 31 and June 7.
This year's program was organized under the theme "A Journey to Find Solutions to the Low Birthrate Agenda." To facilitate communication based on mutual understanding among participating couples, the first session was held for childless engaged or newlywed couples, while the second session was for couples with children who have been married for less than seven years.
The participating couples discussed a range of topics including marriage, childbirth, and work-life balance, as well as issues they commonly face and worry about. Specific topics covered included family planning, division of household chores, financial management, parenting, and cooperation between spouses.
In the subsequent roundtable communication session, psychiatrist Lee Gwangmin and child and adolescent psychiatrist Cho Seongwoo participated. Through this session, the couples shared their thoughts and addressed challenges they encountered for the first time during marriage or parenting.
Yuhan Kimberly and Seoul YWCA are conducting follow-up research to explore the roles that businesses and society should play in addressing the low birthrate issue. They are conducting in-depth interviews and surveys with newlyweds and companies regarding the current state and systems related to work and caregiving. Based on these findings, they plan to propose institutional and cultural alternatives to foster a more favorable perception and environment for childbirth and caregiving, and to expand social awareness.
