The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) will embark on its first visit to the United States since the inauguration of the new government. Together with executives from global companies operating in Korea, AMCHAM plans to deliver messages aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
On June 9, AMCHAM announced that it will hold its annual "2025 Washington Doorknock" program in Washington, D.C., from June 10 to 12 (local time). This visit marks the first U.S. trip by a private economic delegation since the launch of new governments in both Korea and the United States. It is expected to serve as a significant opportunity to explore new directions for bilateral economic cooperation amid the changing global economic environment.
The AMCHAM Washington Doorknock is a flagship annual private economic diplomacy program, providing a platform for global companies operating in Korea to meet directly with key U.S. government officials. Participants share industry-specific issues and discuss economic cooperation agendas between the two countries.
The AMCHAM delegation is scheduled to hold consecutive meetings with key officials from the Trump administration, including the White House, the State Department, and Congress. They will engage in broad discussions on topics such as expanding cooperation in advanced strategic industries like semiconductors and AI (artificial intelligence), stabilizing supply chains, and improving the trade and investment environment. AMCHAM aims to lay a practical foundation for cooperation by conveying the private sector’s perspectives at a time when both countries are formulating new economic policy directions.
