The police plan to strengthen patrols in areas where street racers are expected to appear by collecting intelligence in advance and analyzing reported cases. They will mobilize all available resources, including the traffic crime investigation team, to strictly enforce the law against street racing and reckless driving.
If it is difficult to apprehend offenders on the spot, the police plan to identify and arrest violators through post-incident investigations based on collected evidence.
The main targets of the crackdown include: joint dangerous acts in which two or more vehicles travel side by side or back and forth without reason, causing traffic hazards; repeated reckless driving such as signal violations and crossing the center line; illegal vehicle modifications; excessive noise caused by illegal mufflers; and obscuring license plates.
