Newborn Dies After Being Born on Flight Arriving at Incheon Airport... Police Launch Investigation
The police have launched an investigation after a newborn, delivered by a passenger of Philippine nationality on a flight arriving at Incheon International Airport, was found dead.
According to the Incheon International Airport Police Unit and other sources, at around 6:44 a.m. on June 1, an emergency call was made to 119 reporting that "a baby was born on the plane but is not breathing."
The newborn boy, who had just been delivered, was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but was ultimately pronounced dead.
The passenger aircraft, operated by Jeju Air, had departed from Clark, Philippines, and arrived at Incheon Airport at approximately 6:21 a.m. on the same day. The police plan to investigate the mother, a woman in her 30s of Philippine nationality, as well as others involved, to determine the specific circumstances of the childbirth.

A police official stated, "Since the baby was born and died on a Korean-registered aircraft, the Korean police will conduct the investigation," adding, "We will examine the entire childbirth process and determine the cause of death."
