The drill took place at Gwangju Kimchi Town in Iman-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju. It was conducted without a predetermined scenario, with various disaster situation messages given unexpectedly, focusing on strengthening practical response capabilities.
The exercise simulated a fire situation with concerns about multiple casualties. Key components of the drill included activating the emergency rescue control team, setting up and inspecting the field command post and its equipment, and checking on-site command and control by assigning and briefing tasks to each department and individual.
Lee Munhee, head of the 119 Disaster Response Division at Gwangju Nambu Fire Station, stated, "We will continue to conduct realistic drills so that the emergency rescue control team can be activated immediately in the event of a disaster," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure a faster and more systematic response at the scene of large-scale disasters."
