Gwangju Seogu to Hold Youth Day Commemorative Event on May 31
Under the Theme of "The Bitnal Day"
On May 31, Seogu in Gwangju will hold the 2nd Youth Day commemorative event under the theme 'The Bitnal Day' at the Seobitmaru Arts Center.
According to Seogu on May 30, Youth Day was established last year based on the 'Gwangju Seogu Youth Day Ordinance.' On this day, about 150 participants, including youth, parents, and youth counselors, will gather to support the dreams and passions of young people.
In particular, this event will focus on 'gratitude' as its core theme. Youth participants will invite their parents, teachers, and friends to present special performances such as dance, band, and magic shows.
The participating youth shared their thoughts, saying, "We rarely have the chance to express our gratitude in daily life, so it is meaningful to be able to convey our sincere feelings to our parents, teachers, and friends through this performance."
Kim Ikang, head of Seogu District Office, stated, "I am delighted that we have created a festival where youth, their families, and the local community can come together to celebrate Youth Day." He added, "We will continue to provide various support and opportunities so that young people can nurture their dreams, communicate with the community, and grow."
Meanwhile, Seogu operates creative and practical programs year-round, such as 'Mokgong Supcool,' 'Rising Musician,' and '3D Makers,' to help youth develop diverse interests and aptitudes.
In addition, in the second half of the year, Seogu plans to establish a youth self-directed space in Pungam-dong and promote a variety of youth-led initiatives, including a street basketball tournament and a community festival.
