The inspection involved thoroughly checking the installation status of safety management facilities such as life-saving equipment and danger signboards located at ports, harbors, and along the coastline. Seven local governments within the jurisdiction, including Mokpo City Hall and Shinan County Office, as well as related agencies such as Mokpo Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, participated in the inspection.
Through this inspection, Mokpo Maritime Police identified aging or damaged safety management facilities and vulnerable areas in advance, and requested the relevant agencies to expand and repair these facilities. In addition, alongside the inspection, the agency conducted promotional activities for the establishment of a maritime safety culture in daily life, such as informing coastal visitors about the importance of wearing life jackets and complying with maritime safety rules.
A Mokpo Maritime Police official stated, "Since coastal areas are easily accessible to everyone, even minor carelessness can lead to major accidents. We will do our utmost to eliminate blind spots for coastal accidents through regular inspections and to create a safer sea in cooperation with relevant agencies."
