This initiative is a social contribution activity in which S-OIL has donated 30 million won annually since 2023. Through Onsan Nonghyup, the company purchases locally produced seafood such as seaweed, anchovies, and kelp, and delivers these products in package form to beneficiary households via the Onsan Nonghyup Rural Love Volunteer Group.
This year, seafood packages worth approximately 75,000 won each will be delivered twice to a total of 400 households (200 households per round). The beneficiaries include vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots within the Onsan-eup area, including senior citizen centers. The program aims to promote both healthy eating habits and increased income for local fishermen.
Since 2021, S-OIL has been pursuing improvements in local welfare and economic revitalization through social contribution activities linked to the purchase of local agricultural and marine products. This seafood package support is also an example of ESG management, demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to coexistence with the local community.
An S-OIL representative stated, "We are carrying out various social contribution activities to coexist with the Onsan area where our plant is located," and added, "We hope that the company's small gesture will be a source of strength for neighbors in need in the region."
Shin Mooncheol, head of Onsan Nonghyup, said, "We are deeply grateful for S-OIL's support and the dedication of the Onsan Nonghyup Rural Love Volunteer Group. We hope that support activities such as the seafood package delivery will continue without interruption even during difficult times."
