The goal is to discover companies capable of producing, processing, selling, and distributing fair trade products, and to nurture them into fair trade brands representing the city.
The companies selected this time are Just Vibe Co., Ltd. and Joseon Club Co., Ltd. Just Vibe is preparing for preliminary social enterprise certification and plans to develop hand care products by leveraging its experience in wholesale and retail distribution. Joseon Club, which operates 'Cafe Gaudi' in Sohadong, plans to produce baked goods and sausage products that embody fair trade values, based on its connections within the local community.
Previously, Gwangmyeong City developed three types of fair trade socks and five types of coffee last year, which are currently being sold at local fair trade shops and through online channels.
