KOSPI Quickly Recovers 2,600 Level... KOSDAQ Also Rises 1%
On May 26, the domestic stock market saw a simultaneous rise in early trading.
As of 9:30 a.m. on this day, the KOSPI was trading at 2,610.28, up 18.19 points (0.70%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2,598.45, an increase of 6.36 points (0.25%). While individual investors and foreign investors made net purchases of 19.4 billion won and 6.8 billion won respectively, institutional investors sold off 10.7 billion won worth of shares.
Most of the leading large-cap stocks were showing gains. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries rose by 3.73%, Samsung C&T by 3.31%, LG Energy Solution by 3.08%, Doosan Enerbility by 2.21%, and Hyundai Motor by 1.00%. However, Hanwha Aerospace declined by 2.05%, SK Hynix by 1.15%, and Celltrion by 0.59%.
On the same day, the KOSDAQ was trading at 723.57, up 7.59 points (1.06%). The index had started at 718.48, an increase of 2.50 points (0.35%). Individual investors alone made net sales of 31.5 billion won, while foreign investors and institutional investors bought 3.5 billion won and 31.1 billion won worth of shares, respectively.
Among the top KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, EcoPro BM rose by 4.67%, Samchundang Pharm by 4.23%, Alteogen by 2.79%, Peptron by 2.50%, EcoPro by 2.42%, Hugel by 2.09%, and Lino Industrial by 2.03%. In contrast, PharmaResearch declined by 3.00% and SM by 0.38%.

By industry, trading companies (4.99%), electrical products (3.36%), machinery (2.89%), shipbuilding (2.79%), chemicals (2.37%), steel (2.34%), electronic equipment (1.68%), conglomerates (1.49%), telecommunications services (1.39%), transportation (1.33%), and life sciences (1.30%) showed strength. On the other hand, other capital goods (-1.31%), furniture (-0.84%), food and beverages (-0.75%), department stores (-0.64%), and computers (-0.31%) were weak.
