Ulsan City Strengthens Cooperation with Uzbekistan Agency for External Labor Migration in Human Resource Exchange
Uzbekistan Agency for External Labor Migration Delegation to Visit Ulsan on May 26-27
Discussion on Operation of Ulsan Global Human Resources Development Center and Expansion of Industrial Cooperation
Ulsan City announced that a delegation from the Uzbekistan Agency for External Labor Migration will visit Ulsan from May 26 to 27 to strengthen cooperation in human resource development and the industrial sector.
The delegation consists of a total of seven members, including Deputy Director Matrab Kuranov, who is leading the group.
On the first day of the visit, at 2:00 p.m. on May 26, the delegation will visit Ulsan City Hall and meet with Ulsan Mayor Kim Dookyum to discuss the current operation of the Ulsan Global Human Resources Development Center, which opened in March.
On the same day, at 10:30 a.m., the delegation will visit the Human Resources Development Service of Korea to discuss cooperation measures such as human resources training projects. At 3:00 p.m., they will visit the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to consult with local business leaders on Uzbekistan's human resources development projects.
On the second day, May 27, at 9:00 a.m., the delegation will visit HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to meet with the management and discuss cooperation in the shipbuilding sector.
At 11:00 a.m., they will meet with representatives of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' partner companies to introduce the human resources development projects of the Uzbekistan Agency for External Labor Migration and discuss possible cooperation.
Following this, they will meet with approximately 100 Uzbek workers currently employed at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to encourage them.
Mayor Kim Dookyum stated, "I am pleased that following my visit to Uzbekistan in March, where we signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agency for External Labor Migration and opened a training center, the agency's delegation is now visiting Ulsan. This year marks the first year of human resource development exchanges between Ulsan City and the Uzbekistan Agency for External Labor Migration, and I expect this visit will further elevate the cooperative relationship between the two regions."
On March 18, Ulsan City opened the Ulsan Global Human Resources Development Center within the Fergana Training Center in Uzbekistan.
The center provides tailored technical training by job category and Korean language education to a total of 370 trainees annually, conducting 11 sessions over approximately three months.

Currently, 105 trainees in the first cohort are receiving technical and Korean language training. After completing the program by June 6, they will be given priority employment at small and medium-sized shipbuilding companies in Ulsan, which are experiencing labor shortages, thereby helping to alleviate the workforce shortage for local businesses.
