This training was designed to reflect the job characteristics of train operators, which require repeated and intense concentration. It featured a variety of programs to improve mental health, such as enhancing cognitive abilities and preventing early-stage dementia.
Train operators who participated in the training relieved stress and increased their motivation for work through hands-on, experience-based learning directly related to their duties. The programs included self-assessment of cognitive function, brain activity stimulation exercises, and practicing dementia prevention habits in daily life.
The corporation is operating various mental health care programs for train operators, who work independently in underground spaces and at irregular hours, in order to improve the work efficiency of field staff and to ensure thorough customer safety management.
President Cho Ikmoon stated, "We are doing our utmost to manage both the physical and mental health of our staff for the safe operation of the urban railway," adding, "We will ensure safe train operations by preventing human errors."
