Lee Suhee, the head of Gangdong District, addressed the small-scale road collapse that occurred at 46-6 Myeongil-dong on the afternoon of the 22nd, stating, "I believe residents may feel significant anxiety following the recent large-scale sinkhole incident," and added, "We will make every effort, including thorough inspections and necessary measures, to ensure the safety and daily lives of our residents."

View original imageThe Seoul Eastern Road Management Office suspects that the cause of the small-scale road collapse was insufficient compaction beneath the section where a water pipe was installed. Temporary restoration work was completed overnight, and asphalt pavement work was carried out in the early morning of the 23rd.
