Silla University Culinary Club Wins Double Gold at International Culinary Competition
Students from the Culinary Arts Club of Silla University’s Department of Food and Culinary Arts have won major awards at a global cooking competition.
On May 21, Silla University announced that students from the culinary club "Garnier," affiliated with the Department of Food and Culinary Arts, recently won gold medals in both the exhibition and live categories at the "2025 Korea Challenge Cup International Culinary Competition" held at Suwon Convention Center.
This competition, organized by the Korea Food Cooking Culture Association, is an international-scale culinary contest. With certification from the World Association of Chefs' Societies (WACS), more than 600 teams from around the world participated. The event was divided into 12 categories, including live cooking, group exhibition, and a national university team competition, and was held over two days.
In the exhibition category, students Hwang Ji-hyun, Choi Da-hyun, Noh Ki-jun, and Park Han-byeol participated and won gold. In the live category, Noh Ki-jun and Shim Seo-jung each received gold medals. Noh Ki-jun and Park Han-byeol took on both the exhibition and live categories and achieved notable results in both.
