Kim Seokpil, Acting Mayor of Cheonan, Urges Political Neutrality During Presidential Election Period
"Ensuring Thorough Public Service Discipline to Prevent Any Breach"
Kim Seokpil, acting mayor of Cheonan, urged strict political neutrality among public officials and the thorough establishment of public service discipline during an executive meeting on May 21.
Kim stated, "With the 21st presidential election scheduled for June 3, public officials must uphold political neutrality even more rigorously," and requested, "Please make every effort to establish public service discipline so that there are no cases in which the obligation of political neutrality is compromised."
He added, "I will do my utmost to ensure that public officials of Cheonan City maintain strict political neutrality and to realize a fair and transparent public service," while also emphasizing the need for the smooth execution of legally mandated election duties such as the preparation of the voter list.
Meanwhile, the city is sending official notices to its public officials, urging them to pay close attention to their obligation to maintain political neutrality.
