Cheongsong County Official Website Reacquires Web Accessibility Quality Certification Mark
Strengthening Consideration for Information-Vulnerable Groups
Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province has once again received the 'Web Accessibility Quality Certification Mark' from a certification body designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT, after its official website met the standards for guaranteeing access to and use of intelligent information services for people with disabilities and the elderly, as stipulated in Article 46 of the Intelligent Informatization Basic Act.
The 'Web Accessibility Quality Certification Mark' is awarded only to websites that comply with the Korean Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (KWCAG 2.1) and pass both expert reviews and actual user evaluations, ensuring that all users, including information-vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly, can use the website without inconvenience.
For this recertification, Cheongsong County applied concise content and intuitive design to posts and banners on its website, faithfully adhered to standard accessibility guidelines such as providing alternative text, supporting subtitles, and ensuring keyboard usability, and continuously worked to improve the system.
