Gochang Hanbam is a program that supports travel expenses of up to 100,000 won for tourists who stay in Gochang for at least one night. Participants can receive reimbursement by submitting receipts and simple proof after their trip.
This program goes beyond simply supporting travel costs; it offers a special opportunity to experience and promote the unique charms of Gochang, and has provided reasons to visit even during the off-season.
From February to April this year, a total of 91 teams (253 people) participated in Gochang Hanbam, generating an estimated 40 million won in economic impact for the local community. During this period, the most popular accommodations among Gochang Hanbam travelers were Healing County and Farmers Village, while the most visited tourist attractions were Gochang Eupseong Fortress and Hagwon Farm, allowing visitors to enjoy the diverse charms of Gochang.
In June, up to 100,000 won in travel expenses will be provided to a total of 20 teams, with the amount varying by team. Participants simply need to share their travel plans in advance, stay overnight, visit tourist sites and restaurants, and provide proof via social media. Applications may close early if the budget is exhausted, as support is provided in the order of reimbursement requests. Details on how to participate in Gochang Hanbam and further information can be found on the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation website or its official KakaoTalk channel.
Cho Changhwan, Executive Director of the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, "We hope to provide tangible benefits to travelers while also promoting Gochang's unique tourism resources. Before this summer begins, I encourage everyone to create special memories in Gochang."
