During the hearing, one citizen asked whether the radiation impact had been assessed in the event of a wildfire near the nuclear power plant. Wolsung Headquarters responded that they operate a wildfire response manual and monitoring system, and that radiation levels remained within regulatory limits even in assessments assuming external disasters.
Jung Wonho, Head of Wolsung Nuclear Power Headquarters, stated, "Continued operation is important for the stability of the national power supply and the realization of carbon neutrality. We will proceed safely based on residents' understanding and cooperation."
KHNP plans to incorporate the residents' feedback from the public hearing into the assessment report and submit it to the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission.
