Is Remarriage Difficult Without a Car?... Top Reasons Divorced Women Avoid Certain Partners
Men Dislike "Dry Manner of Speaking,"
Women Avoid "Non-Drivers"
A recent survey found that among women hoping to remarry, the largest proportion believe it is difficult to date a man who does not drive.
On May 13, marriage information companies Only-You and Vienara announced the results of a survey conducted from May 5 to 11. The survey asked 556 divorced men and women nationwide (278 men and 278 women), all of whom hope to remarry, "What characteristics in a potential remarriage partner would act as obstacles to dating?"
In response to this question, 34.2% of women answered, "If the man does not drive, it is difficult for the relationship to proceed smoothly." This was followed by "dry manner of speaking" (27.0%), "does not drink alcohol" (17.3%), and "irregular lifestyle" (13.2%).
In contrast, among men, 32.0% cited "dry manner of speaking" as the biggest obstacle. This was followed by "difficulty communicating by phone" (25.2%), "irregular lifestyle" (20.1%), and "does not drink alcohol" (15.1%).

Lee Kyung, head of Vienara, explained, "For men, if the woman speaks too formally and coldly, it is difficult to feel warmth or affection, so conversations do not proceed smoothly." He added, "In remarriage relationships, the interior of a car is often used as a place for intimacy, and there are many outings. If the partner does not drive, it can disrupt dating."
