Yongsan District Discloses Public Property Information on Website
Official Service Launches Next Month
Enhancing Residents' Right to Know and Utilization
Yongsan District in Seoul is launching a new "Public Property Information Page" on its district office website to make it easier and more convenient for residents to access information about publicly owned assets.
Public property refers to assets owned by public institutions such as the national or local governments, and is used for the public good rather than private interests. The district explained that the previous booklet-format guide to public property was limited in quantity, making it difficult for residents to utilize, and that only property lists were disclosed on the website, which was insufficient for providing practical information. This new measure was introduced to address these issues.
To this end, the district has created a new section on its website dedicated to public property information. This section provides easy-to-understand explanations of the concept of public property, as well as the procedures for leasing and selling such property, and application methods, organized by type. Key information such as the location, land category, and area of general property will also be disclosed to enhance transparency.
For this update, the district plans to complete the collection of relevant materials and content organization by the end of this month. After building the system, the official service is scheduled to launch in June.

Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan District, stated, "Public property is a valuable asset for all of us, but it may be unfamiliar and difficult to understand for ordinary residents. Through this website update, we aim to guarantee residents' right to know, and we expect it will also contribute to the active use of public property and an increase in non-tax revenue."
