[LoginTech] '...' Now Visible on KakaoTalk... Typing Indicator Feature Added
Check Friends' Typing Status
Share Your Own Status in Real Time
KakaoTalk has launched a new service that displays an '...' indicator in chat windows when the other person is typing a message. According to the industry on May 14, Kakao added the 'typing indicator' feature through an application update early that morning.
This feature allows users to see when a friend is typing a message in a chat room and also share their own typing status. It notifies users of the other person's typing activity, similar to Instagram Direct Message (DM).
Previously, users could only tell if the other person had read their message by the '1' indicator. However, with this update, users can now see in real time whether the other person is responding to their KakaoTalk message in the chat window.
This feature can be used by enabling it in KakaoTalk Lab. Users who find this feature inconvenient can turn it off in the Lab settings. A Kakao representative stated, "We introduced this feature to support uninterrupted communication and conversation flow, and to provide an experience similar to real-life offline conversations."
