Gijang-eup Community Social Security Council Supports Leisure Activities for Children and Adolescents with "Dreaming Patissier" Program
Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan (Eup Chief Lee Sangsik) announced on May 14 that it recently concluded the "Dreaming Patissier" program, a project supporting leisure activities for children and adolescents, in collaboration with the Gijang-eup Community Social Security Council (Chairperson Kwon Myoyeon).
This initiative was designed to provide hands-on programs to children and adolescents who may be marginalized from cultural and leisure activities, aiming to support their healthy growth and emotional well-being. The project was carried out with donations from the "Hope Lighthouse Embracing Happiness" sharing fund.
On May 10, fifteen children and adolescents, selected through recommendations from Gijang-gun Dream Start, group homes, and local children's centers, participated and spent a special day engaging in cooking and baking activities.
The program consisted of: ▲ Session 1: Making Quiche Lorraine ▲ Session 2: Making Fresh Cream Cupcakes. Participants had the opportunity to develop creativity and autonomy by designing and decorating their creations according to their own preferences. The children expressed great satisfaction, saying they wanted to share the desserts they made themselves with their families.
Lee Sangsik, Chief of Gijang-eup, said, "Watching the children immerse themselves joyfully in the experience, I realized how even a small gesture of interest can return as great happiness," adding, "We will continue to discover and promote various hands-on programs for local children and adolescents."
