Gokseong County Holds Persimmon Cultivation Training to Boost Farmers' Skills

View original imageGokseong County in South Jeolla Province, led by Governor Cho Sangrae, announced on the 14th that it had conducted cultivation technology training for 36 households cultivating persimmons on the 13th.
The training, which focused on pest and disease control for persimmons and orchard management methods during the summer, was conducted by Dr. Kim Duyong from the Organic Plant Research Institute. After the training, the county also gathered opinions from farmers regarding the necessity of forming a joint shipping association for persimmons and future plans.
Jung Byungyeon, head of the Gokseong Persimmon Research Association, said, "This training has been a great help in improving farmers' cultivation techniques," and added, "We will continue to communicate with the Agricultural Technology Center to form a joint shipping association and strive to establish persimmons as a major income-generating fruit in the region."
A county official stated, "The success of fostering new income-generating fruits depends on the cultivation capabilities of farmers," and added, "We plan to continue providing regular cultivation technology training."
