Jangseong County Sees First Top Donor for Hometown Love Donation Program
Byun Sunghoon, CEO of Haechun Chemical, Donates 20 Million Won
Sets Record as Top Individual Donor to Hometown Love Donation Program in Jangseong
A top donor has emerged in Jangseong County, South Jeolla Province, having reached the individual donation limit of 20 million won for the Hometown Love Donation Program.
On May 13, Jangseong County announced, "Byun Sunghoon, CEO of Haechun Chemical Co., Ltd. and a native of Bukil-myeon, has donated 20 million won to the Hometown Love Donation Program," adding, "This is the highest individual donation case since the donation limit was raised this year."

View original imageByun began her career working in accounting at a small and medium-sized enterprise and has been operating Haechun Chemical Co., Ltd. since 2001. She currently serves as the head of the Gyeonggi branch of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, and continues to support women’s entrepreneurship and business activities, as well as engaging in social contribution activities.
Byun stated, "It is meaningful to be able to contribute to the development of my hometown, Jangseong," and expressed her hope that donations will continue steadily.
Governor Kim Hansong said, "The donated funds will be used with great care for the development of the region."
The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won annually to local governments other than their place of residence. Donors can receive tax deductions as well as return gifts from the respective local government. Starting this year, the individual donation limit has been raised from the previous 5 million won to 20 million won.
