Golf Legend Park Seri Joins as CJ OnStyle Expands Live Broadcast IP
Launch of New Mobile Live Broadcasts with Wellness Concept
Austin Kang Selected as Chef for Home Kitchen Segment
"Strengthening Product Portfolio through Category-Specific IPs"
On May 12, CJ OnStyle announced that it has selected golf legend Park Seri as the new MC for its mobile live broadcast, unveiling a new program with a wellness concept. By adding health and home kitchen categories to its existing lineup of fashion, beauty, and living, the company aims to strengthen its competitiveness in the mobile live commerce market.
CJ OnStyle has chosen golf legend Park Seri and popular chef Austin Kang as new MCs for its mobile live broadcasts, introducing new wellness-themed programs: "Big Sister Seri: What Are You Doing If You Don't Buy?" and "Chef's Group Buying Market with Austin Kang."
The key theme of the new programs is "wellness." Encompassing activities that care for both body and mind?such as slow aging, healthy pleasure, well-fit, well-aging, and quality sleep?wellness is rapidly emerging as an essential element for a healthy lifestyle, beyond just a consumer trend. CJ OnStyle plans to promote wellness routines and lead healthy lifestyles through Park Seri and Austin Kang.
"Big Sister Seri: What Are You Doing If You Don't Buy?" is a talk show-style program where Park Seri shares her wellness know-how. The show will air biweekly, with the first episode scheduled for 8 p.m. on May 14 via the CJ OnStyle mobile app.
In addition to the main broadcast, the content will be expanded into various formats such as short-form and mid-form videos, targeting female fans in their 20s to 40s and broadening engagement with viewers. The first episode will focus on "protein shakes," which have recently gained popularity as a healthy meal replacement.
"Chef's Group Buying Market," hosted by Chef Austin Kang, will also air biweekly, starting with its first episode at 8 p.m. on May 19. The program will introduce home kitchen items that enhance cooking quality, alongside Austin Kang's unique wellness home-cooking recipes. The first episode will cover how to grill meat properly and how to make a variety of sauces.
With the launch of these new programs, CJ OnStyle aims to further strengthen its leadership in "video shopping." In the first quarter of this year, the mobile live broadcast transaction volume surged by 92.4% compared to the same period last year, demonstrating explosive growth. Notably, cumulative page views for first-quarter programs such as "Get It Beauty with Yoo Inna," "What Should Han Yeseul Wear Today?," and "Ahn Jaehyun's Indoor Break" exceeded 20 million.
A CJ OnStyle representative stated, "Strengthening our content and product portfolio by nurturing category-specific IPs that encompass customers' lifestyles is the unique competitive edge of CJ OnStyle," adding, "We will lead new commerce innovation through the organic integration of video content and commerce."
