13 Years of Talent Donation for Electrical Work to Support the Underprivileged
Jinhae District of Changwon Special City, South Gyeongsang Province, held a commendation ceremony in the district office's mayoral office to honor six instructors from the Electrical Engineering Department of the Technical Administration School at the Naval Education Command, as well as the Technical Administration School (as a group), for their ongoing volunteer activities and consistent talent donation to the local community.
The commendation ceremony, held on May 9, was organized to recognize their dedicated service to the development of the local community and support for the underprivileged over a long period. The awardees, who have served as instructors in the Electrical Engineering Department of the Technical Administration School since 2012, have contributed to the public good by providing technical volunteer services in various fields, including conducting electrical safety inspections and replacing outdated equipment in underprivileged households in Jinhae, as well as supporting welfare facilities in the district.
In particular, the Technical Administration School has actively supported and encouraged 18 instructors from the Electrical Engineering Department, including Senior Chief Petty Officer So Seonghan and Senior Chief Petty Officer Jang Junwoo, to provide long-term talent donation to socially vulnerable groups in the region every month, offering practical assistance and contributing to the community. This ceremony was held to officially recognize and commend their contributions and dedication.
Jung Hyunseop, head of Jinhae District, stated, "Thanks to the Navy personnel who have quietly donated their talents for the development of the local community over many years, there have been no neglected areas in our district. I hope that this occasion will help spread the word about these good deeds and encourage more people to participate in spreading warmth throughout the community."
