According to Naju City on May 9, Mayor Yoon personally visited the home of 101-year-old Lee Inbeom in Noan-myeon and 106-year-old Park Sundeok in Nampyeong-eup on May 8, presenting carnations as a sign of respect.
Mayor Yoon stated, "I came to meet our esteemed elders who are over 100 years old to express my respect and gratitude and to hear their valuable opinions. I will do my best to create an age-friendly city so that our parents, who have sacrificed and served their families and society in their youth, can be more respected and enjoy a healthy life in their later years."
Meanwhile, to commemorate Parents' Day, Naju City awarded mayoral commendations to a total of 21 people, including 8 exemplary parents and 13 filial individuals. The city also visited senior centers in each village to present carnations and deliver gifts such as rice cakes and fruit, reaffirming the importance of filial piety and respect for the elderly.
