Official Delegation to Be Dispatched to the Inauguration Ceremony
On May 9, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Minister of Education, Jooho Lee sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected Pope Leo XIV, stating, "The government and people of the Republic of Korea sincerely congratulate you on your election as the 267th Pope."
In his message, Acting President Lee said, "I am confident that Pope Leo XIV's initial message of love for humanity and peace will serve as a valuable guide for resolving conflicts in today's international community."
He added, "I look forward to further strengthening cooperation and exchanges between the Republic of Korea and the Holy See in the future."
