According to state-run China Central Television (CCTV) on May 8, President Xi, during his meeting with President Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia, said, "In the face of current international unilateralism and hegemonic acts of bullying that run counter to the prevailing trends, China, together with Russia, bears the special responsibility of being major world powers and permanent members of the United Nations Security Council."
Expressions such as "unilateralism" and "hegemonic bullying" are frequently used by China when criticizing the United States.
