National Pukyong University College of Environmental and Marine Sciences and K-water Sign MOU to Improve Aquatic Environment in Seonakdong River and Eco Delta City

The College of Environmental and Marine Sciences at National Pukyong University (Dean Tae Yoon Lee) and Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) (Director of Environmental Energy Division Donghak Park) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on April 30 in the conference room of the Environmental and Marine Sciences Building at National Pukyong University. The agreement aims to improve the aquatic environment of the Seonakdong River and the Eco Delta City area and to create a sustainable waterfront ecosystem.

This agreement seeks to enhance joint research and practical cooperation by leveraging the expertise and resources of both institutions, with the goal of improving water quality in the Seonakdong River basin and establishing Eco Delta City as an environmentally friendly waterfront city.

Through this agreement, the College of Environmental and Marine Sciences at National Pukyong University plans to strengthen research and educational activities for water quality improvement and ecosystem restoration in the Seonakdong River basin, based on its expertise in the fields of marine environment and water resources.

Korea Water Resources Corporation is making various efforts to develop Eco Delta City into a sustainable, water-friendly city, focusing on improving water quality and restoring ecosystems in the Seonakdong River and adjacent streams such as Pyeonggangcheon and Maekdogang. In particular, the corporation is promoting a range of projects, including pilot tests and the creation of ecological parks, in cooperation with the local community to improve water quality and restore the ecosystem in the Seonakdong River area.

Through this agreement, both institutions expect to contribute to improving the quality of life for local residents and to the conservation of the ecosystem by creating a healthy and sustainable waterfront space in the Seonakdong River and Eco Delta City area.
