Woori Financial Group Issues 400 Billion KRW in Hybrid Capital Securities
Interest Rate at 3.45%... Lowest Among the Four Major Financial Groups
Woori Financial Group announced on April 30 that it has successfully issued 400 billion KRW worth of won-denominated hybrid capital securities (contingent convertible bonds).
During the book-building process held on April 29, valid demand reached 794 billion KRW, nearly three times the initially reported amount of 270 billion KRW, prompting the company to increase the issuance size to 400 billion KRW. The coupon rate was set at 3.45%, which is the lowest among hybrid capital securities issued by the four major financial holding companies since 2022.
A representative from Woori Financial Group stated, "Despite the ongoing high exchange rate trend, our capital adequacy management capabilities have been recognized, as evidenced by the continuous increase in our common equity capital ratio." The representative added, "We expect that the company's corporate value will be further enhanced through sustained growth in the non-banking sector, as well as improved profit-generating capacity."
