The joint inspection team is checking a comprehensive range of response measures, including early completion strategies for disaster prevention projects, pre-inspections of facilities vulnerable to disasters during floods, and systems for resident evacuation sites and emergency alert duty.
This year, the province is investing 112.2 billion won in 40 local river maintenance projects and 288.1 billion won in 198 disaster recovery projects. Through this joint inspection, Chungnam Province aims to ensure thorough safety management for these ongoing projects.
For disaster recovery projects, the province plans to complete 191 sites before July. For project areas that cannot be finished before the rainy season, the province will implement safety measures first to prevent damage, thereby establishing thorough countermeasures for preemptive disaster prevention.
Kim Youngmyung, Director of the Environment and Forest Bureau of Chungnam Province, stated, "We will continue to conduct thorough pre-inspections and preventive measures to minimize damage from heavy rainfall during the summer," and added, "We will establish a prompt and effective response system that prioritizes the safety of our residents."
