"Raising Awareness of the Importance of Forests and Woodlands"
On April 29, Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced that it will hold a woodworking experience event at Seomjingang Train Village for three days from May 4 to 6, in order to provide both residents and tourists with opportunities for cultural experiences related to wood.
This woodworking experience event will offer a variety of hands-on opportunities and cultural experiences related to woodworking in daily life, including making wooden doll bag charms, wooden play activities, crafting solid wood mirrors, and making solid wood cutting boards. Participants who complete the woodworking experience and share their participation on social media will receive a free succulent plant.
A county official stated, "This event has been specially prepared to increase children's interest in wood, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of forests and woodlands, as children are the hope for the future."
Meanwhile, to celebrate Children's Day, a special event called "Train Village Grand Adventure! Hi Fun Balloon Festival" will be held at Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village from May 4 to 6. During the event, the entire Seomjingang Train Village will be transformed into a magical land of balloons.
