Krafton Posts Record-High Operating Profit of 457.3 Billion KRW in Q1
Krafton announced on April 29 that it achieved record-breaking quarterly results in the first quarter of this year, posting revenue of 874.2 billion KRW and operating profit of 457.3 billion KRW. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 31.3% and operating profit by 47.3%.
By business segment, the company recorded 323.5 billion KRW in PC sales, 532.4 billion KRW in mobile sales, and 18.3 billion KRW in console and other sales.
The main driver behind these record results was the success of the "Battlegrounds" (PUBG) series. In March, which marked the 8th anniversary of its release, Battlegrounds surpassed 1.4 million concurrent users. In particular, the Indian version of Battlegrounds, "Mobile India" (BGMI), attracted strong user engagement through collaborations with well-known local companies such as the automaker Mahindra.
Going forward, Krafton plans to further expand collaborations with artists and brands to secure more Battlegrounds users. In addition, the company announced plans to launch new titles based on the Battlegrounds intellectual property (IP), including the extraction shooter project "Black Budget," the battle royale console game "Project Valor," and the new top-down tactical shooter "Blindspot."
