In response, the county is quickly identifying and urgently logging trees at risk of falling, focusing on areas near residential homes and major facilities. The county is also prioritizing and proactively responding to regions with higher risk.
Additionally, after logging, the county is working to prevent further damage by installing slope protection nets in steep areas prone to landslides and sowing erosion control grass seeds to prevent soil runoff. These swift measures are helping to alleviate the anxiety of affected residents.
County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "Rapid and systematic response is of utmost importance to prevent secondary damage after wildfire incidents," and added, "We will continue on-site inspections and supplementary measures to do our best to protect the lives and property of our residents."
Following the emergency logging, the county also plans to establish and implement mid- to long-term plans for the restoration and ecological recovery of wildfire-affected areas.
