Pocheon City Selected for Four Tourism Projects, Strengthening Foundation as a Stay-Type Tourism City
Securing 162.5 Million Won in Provincial Funding
Pocheon Tourism Advances with Storytelling, Cuisine, and Relaxation
Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced on April 29 that four projects have been selected for the "2025 Tourism Sector Public Contest," organized by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, securing a total of 162.5 million won in provincial funding.
This achievement is the result of Pocheon City's efforts to discover customized tourism content that highlights the region's resources and unique characteristics. The city has promoted various types of stay-type tourism, ranging from family experience-based tourism to food, alleyway, and remote working (workation) tourism at vacation spots.
The selected projects are: △ Gyeonggi Province Convergence Tourism Content Development Project (50 million won) △ Northern Gyeonggi Food Tourism Promotion Project (52.5 million won) △ Gyeonggi Province Excellent Tourism Theme Alleyway Development Project (worth 50 million won) △ Northern Gyeonggi Workation Promotion Project (worth 10 million won).
Pocheon City plans to further enhance its regional tourism competitiveness by expanding stay-type content that utilizes a variety of tourism resources through these projects.
