"7-Month, 70-Team Relay Concert"…Classical Extravaganza 'Seocho Chamber Music Festival'
Participation of Talented Young Artists
Seocho-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo), will host the "2025 Seocho Chamber Music Festival," a relay concert series created in collaboration with 70 teams of talented young artists in the classical music field, from April 30 to November for a total of seven months.
The "Seocho Chamber Music Festival" is a program that leverages Seocho-gu's rich musical infrastructure, as the first district in the country designated as a music cultural zone, to provide young artists with performance opportunities, to revitalize private concert venues, and to offer residents the chance to enjoy high-quality classical music.
Launched in 2019, the festival is now in its seventh year. In 2019, 60 teams participated; in 2020, 40 teams; and from 2021 to 2024, 70 teams each year, resulting in a total of 380 performances to date.
This year, the festival will present a variety of content aimed at breaking the stereotype that "classical music is difficult." Performance venues will be transformed into photo spots that appeal to the 2030 generation, and a "Classics with Commentary" program will help audiences understand and enjoy classical music more easily. In addition, unique collaborative performances combining K-POP and classical music will offer audiences a new and captivating experience.
The 2025 Seocho Chamber Music Festival will be held daily at 7:30 p.m. from April 30 to November 26 at 15 small concert halls throughout Seocho-gu, including Rode Art Center and SCC Sun Art Hall. The festival will feature high-level performances by skilled young musicians with the potential to become world-class artists.
During the festival period, the "Traveling Chamber Music Festival" will also take place at various locations along the "Seocho Cultural Belt," which stretches from Umyeonsan to the Han River, allowing classical performances to be enjoyed throughout Seocho-gu. In addition, a range of development programs will be offered, including customized lectures and chamber music masterclasses for young artists and performance planners, as well as special performances planned for the first and second halves of the year.
All performances are free to attend with advance online reservations. Reservations can be made through the Seocho-gu Office website (seocho.go.kr) or by scanning the QR code on the promotional poster.
