DGIST Signs MOU with Dasah, Posan, and Hwawon High Schools in Daegu to Foster Local Science Talent
The DGIST Convergence Talent Education Institute (President: Lee Geonwoo) announced on April 28 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dasah High School, Posan High School, and Hwawon High School, which are autonomous public high schools in Dalseong-gun, Daegu. Through this agreement, the institutions will collaborate on joint educational initiatives aimed at nurturing local science talent and fostering future-oriented convergence talent.
This agreement was established to support local high school students in enhancing their scientific thinking and creativity by utilizing DGIST's advanced educational and research infrastructure, thereby helping them grow into convergence-type talent. DGIST and the participating high schools plan to build a sustainable educational cooperation model through mutual collaboration.
The main areas of cooperation include conducting joint research projects for the operation of Autonomous Public High School 2.0 and talent development, operating science research mentoring programs, offering science group education and special lecture programs, and providing instructor support, among various other educational activities.
Based on this agreement, DGIST will operate a joint high school education program for local high school students, offering opportunities for students to engage in in-depth study of the latest research topics and to directly experience research-based education. The program is scheduled to be fully implemented starting in the second half of the year.
Seok Changwon, Director of the DGIST Convergence Talent Education Institute, stated, "Through close cooperation with local high schools, we will support students in gaining practical opportunities for scientific exploration," and added, "We will actively leverage DGIST's educational capabilities to nurture creative and convergence-oriented local talent."
