Red Velvet's Wendy Signs Exclusive Contract with Ascend After Leaving SM
Wendy (real name Son Seungwan), a member of the group Red Velvet, has signed with a new agency.
Entertainment agency Ascend announced on the 25th, "We have signed an exclusive contract with Wendy," adding, "We are delighted to work with an artist who has proven her outstanding abilities in various fields."
Wendy recently ended her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment and left the company, but she will continue Red Velvet activities with SM. Ascend stated that it will actively cooperate with her group activities.
Wendy debuted in 2014 as a member of the five-member girl group Red Velvet and has released hit songs such as "Ice Cream Cake," "Red Flavor," and "Psycho," establishing herself as part of the third generation of K-pop girl groups. In 2021, she began her solo career with "Like Water."
In addition, she served as a judge on Mnet's "Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival" and KBS2's "The Danttara," and was also active as a DJ on SBS Power FM's "Wendy's Youngstreet."
