The drill will simulate a complex disaster scenario in which a KTX-Eum train derails due to a drone bomb attack, followed by a fire breaking out inside the passenger car. This exercise combines the recent increase in train fires with a high-impact terrorist situation to comprehensively review the disaster response system. The entire process will be examined, from situation awareness and communication, to initial response, deployment of related agencies, and recovery measures. Ten organizations will participate in the drill, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korea Railroad Corporation, Yeongcheon City Hall, the police, fire department, and military. Jung Eekyung, Director of Railway Safety Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated, "A single railway accident can cause significant damage, so it is important to maintain rapid response capabilities through realistic, practical training on a regular basis."
