Gyeonggi Northern Government Complex to Launch 'Play Store' Board Game Space at Plaza Book Cafe
Expansion of Spaces for Communication and Healthy Cultural Leisure Activities for Residents
Open from April... Accessible to Everyone
On April 23, Gyeonggi Province announced that the North Book Cafe at the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex's Gyeonggi Peace Plaza will undergo a transformation with the launch of the 'Play Store', a space where visitors can enjoy both reading and board games, starting from April 25.
The Gyeonggi Peace Plaza Book Cafe has been offering a distinctive atmosphere and services compared to typical public libraries, serving as a complex cultural space where visitors can read, converse, and enjoy cultural and artistic performances together.
The 'Play Store' was created with the aim of fostering communication among residents and providing healthy leisure opportunities. By equipping the Book Cafe at Gyeonggi Peace Plaza with various cultural and leisure facilities, the province hopes to make it a welcoming and convenient space for all residents to visit and enjoy.
The board game area, 'Play Store', will utilize the central stage and some tables within the Book Cafe. Visitors can borrow and enjoy more than 60 different types of board games free of charge, ranging from strategic games such as Rummikub, Ubongo, and chess to puzzles for children.
In particular, the selection focuses on games that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from children to adults, making it an attractive destination for family visitors. It is expected to help relieve stress and enhance quality of life through healthy leisure activities.
To use the facility, visitors simply need to come to the Book Cafe on the first basement level of the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex during operating hours, fill out the user registration log inside, freely enjoy the board games, and return them afterward. More details can be found on the Gyeonggi Peace Plaza website.
Won Jinhee, Administrative Management Officer of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We have carefully prepared the board game space at the Book Cafe in the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex so that residents can naturally interact and share enjoyable moments together," adding, "We will continue our efforts to make this a space where everyone can share happiness."
