Daegu City to Publicly Recruit 15 for Disaster Safety Task Force... Residency Requirement Lifted
On April 22, the Daegu city government announced that it will publicly recruit 15 permanent employees to serve in the Disaster Safety Task Force, aiming to ensure a swift and systematic initial response in the event of various disasters.
This recruitment follows the recent expansion and reorganization of the Forest Disaster Task Force, which was active in the recent wildfire in Dalseong County, into the Disaster Safety Task Force. The scope of disaster response will be broadened from wildfires to include all types of natural and social disasters, in order to establish a more comprehensive and rapid initial response system.
The selected candidates will be responsible for field-based disaster safety tasks, including disaster prevention activities, wildfire response and suppression, assisting residents during evacuations in the event of typhoons, floods, or landslides, and recovery work in disaster-affected areas.
There are no residency restrictions for applicants, and anyone between the ages of 18 and 60, regardless of gender or educational background, is eligible to apply.
Applications will be accepted in person or by registered mail from May 2 to May 8. The recruitment process consists of a document screening (first round), physical fitness test (second round), and interview (third round). Final candidates will be selected through this fair process and are expected to begin work in June 2025.
Park Heejun, Director of Disaster and Safety at Daegu City, stated, "Through this recruitment, we will further strengthen our field-oriented initial disaster response capabilities and build a disaster response system that ensures the safety of our citizens. We look forward to the active participation of many qualified and responsible individuals."
